Sh-Boom! A Christmas MiracleIt’s 1965. A few years ago, Denny and the gang achieved overnight fame when they won the WOPR Radio “Dream of a Lifetime Talent Search” as “Denny and the Dreamers.” After a few years of touring and having a taste of the big time, the fledgling group broke up over slights and grievances, mostly petty and non-existent. In this holiday sequel, the gang gets back together to perform again as a group for the Christmas Bazaar at Wally’s church. Denny and Eugene won’t speak to each other, Duke and Lois are in the middle of an un-acknowledged marital spat, and Wally is left to broker the peace for Christmas. Filled with great ’60s doo-wop hits and holiday classics. |

Denny Varney
Male - Mid-to-late 20s
Denny is back living in his mother's basement. Still a very talented yet egotistical man child. He thinks Eugene has taken money from him and his singing group (not true), and so he disbands his big-time group and tries to start a new group without Eugene. Mid-to-late 20s, lead tenor (and 60s falsetto) in many songs.
Eugene Johnson
Male - Mid-to-late 20s
Denny's best friend and now nemesis. Eugene invested the group's money, but Denny refuses to believe he didn't spend it and wants his share back. A genius living a humble life, Eugene still has visions of Lois dancing in his head when he believes Lois' husband Duke is out of the picture. Mid-to-late 20s, Tenor and 2nd Tenor, with falsetto.
Wally Patten
Male - Mid-to-late 20s
Wally is the son of a preacher who is the heart and soul of the group, as well as the one who always tries to find peace amongst all of the warring factions. Truly joyful and loving, Wally is instrumental in setting up the group's big comeback at the Church Bazaar at his church. Mid-to-late 20s, Baritone with Bass notes to fill in when Duke sings lead.
Duke Henderson
Male - Late 20s to early 30s
The last add-on to our singing group, Duke was the new guy from the wrong side of the tracks. Now married to Lois, Duke finds his dreams of starting a family are stalled when Lois decides she'd rather remain a simple twosome and be on the road. Late 20s-to-early 30s. Sings Bass, with wide bari-tenor range as soloist.
Lois Franklin
Female - Mid-to-late 20s
A former song leader at Springfield High, Lois helped bring the boys together to make them into the super performing group they became before Denny blew it all up. She's eager to get the gang back together, having fallen in love with touring and seeing the world outside her hometown. Mid-to-late 20s, mezzo-soprano with a strong pop belt.
Mrs. Varney
Female
Denny’s offstage mother. Played by actress portraying Lois. (Live Voiceover from Offstage)
“Bullseye” Miller
Radio DJ / Announcer. Pre-recorder Voiceover.
