Peter Webb won the Richard Rodgers Production Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters for his Off-Broadway musical SPLENDORA and was nominated for outstanding script by the Writers Guild of America for his work on television’s “As the World Turns.” He directed Donna McKechnie’s one-woman musical INSIDE THE MUSIC, written by Christopher Durang. For the Bay Street Theatre, he directed PIPPIN with Ms. McKechnie, Kate Burton, and Dana Ivey. He created cabaret shows for Tony winners Lonette McKee and Michael McGuire and directed Tori Spelling in her stage debut. Webb has co-authored several other musicals, including SALLY BLANE, WORLD’S GREATEST GIRL DETECTIVE. He coadapted the Broadway revival of GOING UP. In addition to “As the World Turns,” he has written for NBC’s “Another World” and “Riviera,” the first pan-European soap opera. As resident director for the New York City Opera Theatre, Webb collaborated with Thomas Martin on productions of LA BOHEME, I PAGLIACCI, and the world premiere of Seymour Barab’s THE TOY SHOP. His production of ALADDIN was a hit at the Jerash Festival in Jordan and his IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA a highlight of the Bermuda Festival. He has also directed or supervised the national tours of JEWTOPIA, LATE NITE CATECHISM, and MENOPAUSE, THE MUSICAL.
