Nora Brigid Monahan
Nora Brigid Monahan is a genderqueer playwright and performer, best known for writing and starring in the solo comedy DIVA (winner of the 2013 United Solo Award for Best Musical and the United Solo & Backstage Audience Choice Award), later expanded into the musical DIVA: LIVE FROM HELL (music & lyrics by Alexander Sage Oyen). Other work includes AUNT JACK, RODHAM/SADE, THE FRONT PORCH PLAY, and the musical TYRANTS (music & lyrics by Alexander Sage Oyen, developed by The York Theatre Company and Penn State Musical Theatre). As a performer, Monahan has appeared regularly on the American stage since age ten and originated the role of Jimmy the Newsboy in Charles Busch’s TIMES SQUARE ANGEL.
