Mark Swanson

Mark Swanson, a native of Augusta, GA, received his Bachelor of Music degree from Augusta State University in 1993, and relocated to Los Angeles, CA to pursue a career in film music. His most notable work in Los Angeles involved scoring two consecutive Showtime Entertainment films. Mark returned with his young family to Augusta in 2001 to begin a family business working with individuals with developmental disabilities where his company, Accent, Inc. has transitioned hundreds of individuals into the community setting. While in Augusta, Mark began writing music for several local theatre companies where his most recent compositions include incidental music from Torch Song Trilogy II, and his original musical/rock opera, Misconception: The Lost Gospel of Christmas which ran for two consecutive years in his native Augusta, Georgia. Misconception was also produced in Washington, D.C. through the Capital Fringe Festival in 2013. Mark has completed his second original musical entitled A Scythe of Time, a collaboration with the Welsh playwright, Alan Harris, and was produced at the 2016 New York Musical Festival.
