Helen Sneed
A native Texan and resident of New York City, Helen Sneed has worked extensively in presidential and statewide elections as a political organizer and strategist for Democratic candidates. Her New York theatre positions include Director of Professional Rights, Dramatists Play Service; Senior Vice President, Music Theatre International; Executive Director, National Alliance for Musical Theatre; and Director, Special Projects, Walt Disney Theatricals. A member of the League of Professional Theatre Women and the Dramatists Guild, Helen is the co-author of a musical, Sally Blane, World’s Greatest Girl Detective. In 2013, the world premiere of her play Fix Me, Jesus was produced off-Broadway by the Abington Theatre Company in New York City. It, too, is published and licensed by Dramatists Play Service. For over 20 years she has been a judge at FutureFest, the new play festival at the Dayton Playhouse. A passionate advocate for the mentally ill, Helen gives speeches on the rights and treatment of those who cannot speak for themselves. She is a graduate of Tulane University.
