Rick Rea

Rick Rea is a prolific composer-lyricist, librettist, director, and vocal/acting coach. His works as a composer and/or lyricist include My Jo (with Rob Lauer), First Freedom (with Rob Lauer and Sam Cardon), (mis)Fitting In (with Jamie Young), A Fairly Potter Christmas Carol, May the Mouse Be With You, The Hundredth Race (with Melissa Weisbach), Kurt ’N’ Pat: Spies 4 Hire (with A.J. Freeman), Sherlock: The Musical (from the web series Places), and Perks of Being a Wallflower (in development). After five years as the Artistic Director of Ziegfeld Theatre Company, Rick is presently composer/lyricist for the Tony Award-winning BMI Lehmen Engel Musical Theatre Workshop. Rick is also a highly-sought after voice and acting coach, with several students playing leading roles on Broadway, in Nat’l tours, and regional theaters around the country. He lives in New York City with his husband and their (fake) plants.
