Covid-19 Update

A Message from Broadway Licensing; Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

Dear friends and colleagues,

I’m writing to let you know we at Broadway Licensing/Playscripts are here for you in this time of uncertainty. We know many of you are waiting to hear if your schools and venues will close and if your scheduled performances will go on. We are also all concerned about the lasting impact on our industry and lives. With so many things still unknown we can assure you that you should have no questions when it comes to working with us. You MAY postpone your production, you MAY cancel your production, we WILL be here every step of the way to ensure that you, your audiences and your community will overcome this challenge. Below you will find answers to our most asked questions regarding the pandemic. If you need further clarification, don’t see your question, or need someone to help discuss alternate performance options, please call or email us. Our only job now is to provide a sense of calm in the storm.

Postponement

You are absolutely welcome to postpone your currently scheduled production. There are no additional fees whatsoever for postponement. Additionally, if you do not have your new dates lined up, that is okay. We can, for the time being, list your postponement as open-ended. When you know your dates, contact your licensing representative and they will adjust your license.

Live-Streaming

If you are able to livestream your production, please reach out to your licensing representative. We have a growing list of titles that have been approved for livestreaming. Ultimately, these rights are controlled by the artists who created the shows. In some cases, getting approval means getting sign offs from a number of parties. We will do our absolute best to facilitate your needs, while still respecting the wishes of the artists that we represent.

Cancellation

If you are in the unfortunate position of having to cancel all or a portion of your run, please consult your licensing agreement for our cancellation policies.

As always, if you have any questions at all, please reach out to us.

Regards,
Sean Cercone
CEO/President
